Product ID: 717

This natural tourmaline, weighing 3,23 ct and featuring a brilliant pear cut (12 × 7 mm), enchants with its intense pink hue with a padparadscha nuance, shimmering with every movement, rendering it truly luxurious.

Pink tourmaline is one of the most sought-after gemstones of recent years – it symbolises love, serenity and feminine energy. In many cultures it has been regarded as a stone that attracts good fortune and wards off negative energy.

Tourmalines are distinguished by their high lustre, rich colour palette and outstanding durability (hardness 7). Thanks to their natural clarity and saturated hue, they are an extraordinary choice for everyday jewellery and luxurious solitaires alike.
This pink tourmaline is a wonderful alternative to pink sapphires or pink diamonds – offering a similarly radiant effect, yet with a softer, more romantic nuance and a more accessible price. The ideal choice for those seeking a stone with soul, light and emotion.

The story

About this creation

This natural pink tourmaline from Mozambique, weighing 3.23 ct with a brilliant pear cut (12 × 7 mm), is exceptional for its intense 'Padparadscha Pink' colour, reminiscent of a sunset over a tropical ocean. It is entirely natural and unheated, with outstanding Flawless–VVS clarity and excellent lustre, placing it among the finest quality gemstones.

Tourmaline is one of the most fascinating and diverse gemstones in the world. For centuries, people believed it to be other precious stones — such as emeralds, rubies or sapphires — because tourmaline can display almost every colour of the rainbow. Its name derives from the Sinhalese word 'toramalli', meaning 'mixed gemstones'.

In the 16th century, Portuguese navigators discovered green tourmalines in Brazil, mistaking them for emeralds. It was not until the 19th century, through the renowned gemmologist George F. Kunz of Tiffany & Co., that tourmaline claimed its rightful place among precious gems. Of particular note is that the largest buyer of tourmalines at the time was the Chinese imperial family, who used them to adorn jewellery and luxury objects such as snuffboxes and miniature sculptures.

Tourmaline is a symbol of inner strength, harmony and love. Pink hues have traditionally been associated with gentleness, feminine energy and the heart chakra — said to ease tension and restore joy in life.

Pink tourmalines, often referred to as rubellites, rank among the most sought-after varieties of this gemstone. They are distinguished by their high lustre, ideal hardness (7 on the Mohs scale) and exceptional depth of colour. Their durability makes them ideal both for everyday wear and for luxury jewellery on the most special occasions.

Investment Potential of Padparadscha Pink Intense Tourmaline

Tourmaline in the Padparadscha Pink Intense shade is among the rarest and most coveted colour varieties within this gemstone family. This particular stone, weighing 3.23 ct, originates from Mozambique, possesses outstanding brilliance, flawless clarity (Flawless–VVS) and has undergone no heat treatment whatsoever — which significantly enhances its collector's and investment value. Natural, unheated pink tourmalines of such colour saturation are exceptionally rare, and demand for them grows year on year, particularly among private investors and collectors of coloured gemstones.

By virtue of its rare hue, natural origin and exceptional clarity, this tourmaline represents a stable and promising investment. It is the ideal choice for those seeking a unique stone with outstanding appreciation potential, while also desiring a jewel that radiates delicacy, elegance and femininity.

Living with your jewel

Caring for your jewellery

Caring for jewellery matters more than most people expect. Your creation sparkles newly after a gentle cleansing: most gemstones, and diamonds especially, respond beautifully to a wash in mild soapy water. But not every gem. An emerald, for example, must never be washed this way; its natural character asks for a different, gentler care. Please always ask us how to care for your jewellery, and especially for your gemstone. We will gladly show you.

Gold is a soft metal, and it deserves to be worn thoughtfully: removed for sport and heavy work, kept away from chemicals, stored in its box. And once every couple of years, we recommend bringing your jewel to a jeweller so the prongs can be checked for wear; a five-minute inspection protects a stone for a lifetime.
